Trade Bitcoin Next Day Swaps

You can buy and sell bitcoin in increments of 0.01 BTC with mini swaps. 1 contract = 0.01 BTC, 100 contacts = 1 BTC.

Note: LedgerX is a derivatives exchange, not a spot exchange, so our product structure is based on our contract size, which is 0.01 BTC/ 0.1 ETH.

When you buy bitcoin on LedgerX, you are paying U.S. dollars now to receive bitcoin at 4pm ET. This next-day bitcoin contract settles at 4pm ET.

1. Navigate to the Swaps tab
2. Enter the number of contracts you want to buy. You can buy BTC in increments of 0.01 BTC, 1 contract = 0.01 BTC.
3. Enter the price at which you want to purchase BTC, i.e., the price needs to be around the current market value price of BTC (ex. $30,000) and the total cost will automatically calculate based on the number of contracts you enter.
4. Review your buy order by clicking on the green "buy/long" button.
5. Click confirm buy/long to submit your order. If your trade executes, you will see NextDay-BTC Mini in your positions. The BTC will be available in your account at 4pm ET.

When you sell Bitcoin on LedgerX, you receive dollars immediately. You can use the USD for trading or withdrawal the funds from your account by submitting a withdrawal request.

1. Navigate to the Swaps tab
2. Enter the number of contracts you want to sell. You can sell BTC in increments of 0.01 BTC, 1 contract = 0.01 BTC.
3. Enter the price at which you want to sell BTC, i.e., the price needs to be around the current market value price of BTC (ex. $30,000) and the total cost will automatically calculate based on the number of contracts you enter.
4. Review your sell order by clicking on the red "sell/short" button.
5. Click confirm sell/short to submit your order. If your trade executes, you will see NextDay-BTC Mini in your positions. The dollars you received will be in your available trading balance. The BTC you are selling will be locked in your account until 4pm ET.

Trade ETH Next Day Swaps on the SEF

Effective June 23, 2022, only Eligible Contract Participants (ECPs) can buy and sell ETH in increments of 0.10 ETH with deci swaps on the Swap Execution Facility (SEF). 1 contract = 0.1 ETH, 10 contracts = 1 ETH.

When you buy ETH on LedgerX, you are paying U.S. dollars now to receive ETH at 4pm ET. This next-day ETH contract settles at 4pm ET.

1. Navigate to the Swaps tab
2. Enter the number of contracts you want to buy. You can buy ETH in increments of 0.10 ETH, 1 contract = 0.10 ETH
3. Enter the price at which you want to purchase ETH, i.e., the price needs to be around the current market value price of ETH (ex. $1,500) and the total cost will automatically calculate based on the number of contracts you enter.
4. Review your buy order by clicking on the green "buy/long" button.
5. Click confirm buy/long to submit your order. If your trade executes, you will see NextDay-ETH in your positions. The ETH will be available in your account at 4pm ET.

When you sell ETH on LedgerX, you receive dollars immediately. You can use the dollars for trading or withdrawal the funds from your account by submitting a withdrawal request.

1. Navigate to the Swaps tab
2. Enter the number of contracts you want to sell. You can sell ETH in increments of 0.10 ETH, 1 contract = 0.10 ETH.
3. Enter the price at which you want to sell ETH, i.e., the price needs to be around the current market value price of ETH (ex. $1,500) and the total cost will automatically calculate based on the number of contracts you enter.
4. Review your sell order by clicking on the red "sell/short" button.
5. Click confirm sell/short to submit your order. If your trade executes, you will see NextDay-ETH in your positions. The dollars you receive will be in your available trading balance. The ETH you are selling will be locked in your account until 4pm ET.

Day Order

Swap orders are canceled if they are not executed before 4pm ET daily.

For example, you enter an order to buy 120 contracts at 8am ET. You are filled on 117 contracts. At 4pm ET you have 3 unfilled open orders. These 3 unfilled orders are canceled at 4pm ET. You purchased 117 contracts.

Examples of how to buy/sell next-day swaps

Buy/Long BTC

1. Navigate to the Swaps tab

2. Enter the number of contracts you want to buy, you can do this in increments of 0.01 BTC - in this example 4 or 0.04 BTC

3. Enter the price - look in the order book for current trading prices - in this example: $30,200

4. The total cost automatically calculates for the number of contracts you want, 0.04 BTC or $1,208 + $0.20 in fees (0.05/contract)

5. Click Buy/Long and receive your BTC at 4 pm ET

Sell/Short BTC

1. Navigate to the Swaps tab

2. Enter the number of contracts you want to sell, you can do this in increments of 0.01 BTC- in this example 2 or 0.02 BTC

3. Enter the price - look in the order book for current trading prices - in this example: $30,200

4. The total cost automatically calculates for the number of contracts you want to sell, 0.02 BTC or $604.00 - $0.10 in fees (0.05/contract)

5. Click Sell/Short - receive USD instantly
